My parents are very controlling of me and my siblings, and randomly input time restrictions to shut off our WiFi. I myself am a student and this has interfered on a number of occasions. I was wondering if a VPN would allow me to bypass time restrictions set up on a WiFi network.
Can I set up a vpn with a friend to reduce packet loss?
My ISP has bad routing for playing COD warzone (80%+ packet loss). A friend of mine in the same city as me has a good connection (other ISP) and 0% packet loss.
Can create a vpn in order that I will be able to use his routing and play with no packet loss as well?
I tried hamachi and it didn’t work.
SSTP blocked by firewall? [HELP]
I’m trying to use a VPN to bypass my school firewall. The only protocol is working is SSTP (Port 443) when I use a provider (MAXPING/GIAMPING).
I tried to set up my own VPN using SoftEther (SSTP Enabled) and it doesn’t seem to work in my school network (Connect just fine with cellular). Anyone knows what’s happening here?
A movie is released online at midnight local, can I VPN with a country in a timezone ahead of mine and watch it early?
Movie comes out on Netflix at midnight, can I VPN through japan and watch it early?
VPN & Virtual Machine ?
very new to this, and want to make sure I don’t mess this up.
I’m trying to get a connection that is 100% seen as based in USA. This is for work, I’m an email marketer and need to get some companies sales emails for research but some filter out sends based on location if it’s outside their shipping area.
I’ve tried a VPN on my mac, but this hasn’t really done the job (Still showing local google results).
I’ve been advised to use a virtual machine combined with a VPN… but I have a concern.
if my macbook has a VPN does that transfer automatically to the VM?
if not… how can I make sure I connect the VM to the VPN from the start?
I’d be using virtual box to set up windows for context.
SFTP over VPN
Hi all,
Anyone know whether it would be possible to setup a VPN (and if so how/who) to only take effect when using my FTP client?
As in, the rest of the traffic from this PC should not go over the VPN, the only part that matters is the FTP (Which connects via an IP so there is no DNS lookup involved)
edit: I have two connections so the alternative would be to just have one be VPN’d, but I dont know of any way to force the PC to use a particular connection for a particular application, I don’t want to disturb them too much because I’ve managed to get Steam to download over both at once and I dont want to break that!
Cannot access resources on LAN after connecting to L2TP IPsec VPN on Android 8
The question is in the title. One thing I should mention is that this problem does not exist on macOS or Windows.
I am not using any specific app. Just the built in L2TP client of Android.
Stupid question about ISP seeing info
So let’s say I have a VPN server at home. I connect to it from a restaurant. The data packets from the restaurant to the house are encrypted right?
So the ISP has no way of knowing what the data packet contained?
VPN disconnect?
My VPN connection had been working just fine for a month and a half until last Tuesday 05/05/2020. When I connect it says the tunnel enabled, then a few moments later it says:
‘session terminated by gateway’
‘tunnel disabled’
‘detached from key daemon’
I’ve restarted my modem, my router, everything. I’ve talked with our RMM support my work pays for and did some trouble shooting with them. I’ve plugged an Ethernet cord directly into the modem and it still kicks me off with the message above. I can tether to my phone and it works fine so the RMM support is saying it’s my internet provider and nothing on their end. I’ve spoke with my internet provider and they have no idea what the matter is.
Anyone have any tips to tell my internet provider or RMM support or does anyone have any help?!
