Because most or all of your traffic will be encrypted and to one server IP on one port (until you change VPN server). That’s not typical user internet behaviour.

my ISP tried to scare me off from vpn by sending text message that said theres “open DNS port and if its not dealt with they shut down my internet” it had customer number i checked my custoner numbers and there was no sign of anything with that number. i bet if i called them they would have claimed that it was not from them. i did nothing to try fix their “issue” because i knew it was bullshit and non existant issue so i watched their hand and it was full of shit. NEVER trust your ISP, now i daily use vpn just to piss them off. (vpns are 100% allowed and legal in my country)
