I don’t know about an app, but I’m pretty sure you can achieve this with Takser+OpenVPN.
IVPN
Automateit is a great Android app that allows apps to start when certain triggers are hit (ie connect to a WiFi) the VPN I use @TorGuard allows auto connection when the app is opened. That is my method…. My advice is to find a VPN that has a similar option and do that.
Mine auto-connects when I go from WiFi to cellular and vice-versa, so I’m pretty much connected via VPN all the time. I use Mullvad for VPN service and OpenVPN for Android for client.
AirVPN fails on mac, connect (at start up) on my mac, on the windows OS partition side, but they fail to implement ‘badly’ on mac OS side, i have 2 more weeks and I think is time for a change.
