1. I would rather prefer to use a VPN service based in Sweden. Because we have some good laws. I use only Swedish-based VPN´s

3. If any kind of Swedish agency takes an interest in you, it’s that much easier for them since your service is within their jurisdiction. Sweden is also part of the [14 Eyes](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Eyes#Other_international_cooperatives), so I would say yes, avoid that.

4. Sweden is a reputable country with a good record, unless you are doing something illegal in Sweden with that VPN, I think it’s perfectly fine.

   If it bothers you, you could also try VPNs from other responsible like-minded countries like the rest of the Nordics or Switzerland or something.

5. Depends on what you use it for. Using an endpoint in the same country gets you:

   * Privacy from your local ISP (last mile provider).
   * Privacy of location as the endpoint IP is the one reported.
   * Privacy of access since DNS is being done through the tunnel.

   However the world will still know you are in Sweden so that greatly narrows down the possibilities for someone who’s trying to find you.
