How to Setup WireGuard on a Raspberry Pi

Hi everyone!

I created a tutorial on how to setup WireGuard on a Raspberry Pi. I try and create user-friendly tutorials that include all setup/configuration instructions and explain everything as clearly as I can. Any feedback you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

How the hell did my ISP just send me an unprompted message on my PC?

I opened my browser today & somehow, my ISP sent me a message box inside my browser telling me Im nearing my data cap for the month. How the hell did they do that? How can they get to my PC, inside my browser & send me a message?

Edit: It wasnt the very first page I opened. The message box only appeared once I started a video stream in a new tab.

Edit 2: Ok, have some clarity now. Apparently my VPN was actually off & this message only popped up once I visited a page not using https. So from the great answers here (thanks for the responses), it seems my ISP intercepted my traffic, injected a JavaScript message box, and sent it back to me. Very creepy, but hey, thats ISPs for ya.

Student VPN project, help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys!
I have tried other avenues to seek a little bit of help, hopefully this might be the right place to ask now.

I am planning to build a VPN built on top of blockchain tech for my final year project in college, now I am quite familiar with blockchain tech but not a lot with regards to the inner workings of a VPN, do you guys know of any solid resources I could use to learn about building my own VPN?

I have searched but I have had no luck as of yet, outside of using a third party API for the VPN part of things.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it!

How to get around campus blocking VPN?

Hey guys, as you can see from the title I’m trying to use a VPN on my campus’ network. My only issue is that after say twenty to sixty minutes, I lose Internet connection and have to reconnect to the WiFi. I should definitely add before hand that my school forces us to install SafeConnects policy key, the bane of my existence and what I think is causing this. I’ve tried spoofing my Chrome to not have to install it but that didn’t work.

I thought initially that they were detecting my VPN (I use TorGuard), and that still may be it. I’ve tried using the OpenVPN stealth protocol (port 4443) with both TCP and UDP, port 443 on OpenVPN, WireGuard, and OpenConnect as well as L2TP.

I changed my DNS to Google’s open DNS just to see if that was the issue and that didn’t seem to fix it although (it may be coincidental) I did get it to consistently connect for like an hour.

Do I even have any options at this point or should I just accept defeat?

VPN on Xbox problem

My VPN worked flawlessly on my Xbox initially but out of nowhere my Xbox would not connect to it. Now, the only way I can get it to work is to 1) un-share my VPN with my Xbox Ethernet on my laptop. 2) turn my Xbox on and clear the MAC address. 3) change my VPN server location then re-share my VPN connection with my Xbox Ethernet on my laptop. THEN 3) hard-reset my Xbox 5 to 10 times until it connects). I don’t mind the first 2 steps but having to restart my Xbox that many times is annoying at this point so I was seeing if anyone knows a workaround to this problem? Let me know if any more info would help, thanks!
