  1. no way, unless there had been lawsuit against vpn providier. there are some vpn providiers that have had FBI case and no logs were given. i personally prefer facts over vpn providier’s website saying no logs.

  2. There are several VPNs that have proven no logs in the court of law. Country of operation is also an important factor I’m determining if no logs are even legal

  3. No, and there’s nothing to stop any non-logging VPN from turning on future logging for just a specific user if they were served with a warrant.

  4. Do yourself a favour and get a VPN that has a good rep and isn’t based in a certain countries.

  5. You will never know.

And the examples below are not reliable either. Whenever the government forces answers from a company they get a gag order on them So no company is going to say yes we cooperated. However they can easily get away with saying they didn’t since the government isn’t going to correct that. It’s to the governments advantage to pretend nobody cooperated.

The Espress VPN example is also bogus because VPN servers don’t store customer information. So of course nothing was found. Touting this as proof of not keeping logs is in the realm of fake news.

Plus I’m willing to bet a lot of the VPN companies, especially those that offer thousands of servers and locations for 3 bucks a month are government funded honeypots in the first place.
