I’ve recently started getting DMCA’s using PIA. Checked the DNS and it was leaking. Enabled DNS leak protection, we’ll see if that helps.

Why dont you embed your vpn account directly inside of utorrent settings?
Use your kill switch. Check for a DNS leak.
It’s impossible to know for sure. Most likely case is your VPN hiccuped and switched over to your real IP long enough for them to capture it but not long enough for it to register. It’s kinda a weird circumstance that they caught your identity but got the IP address wrong.
Or maybe their form letter only has space for one IP and they used that one when they actually have both.
Maybe your VPN provider ratted you out?
EDIT Opss I can recommend you another VPN . I recommend you to use change your the DNS of your router and change the MAC of your computer. Block WebRTC too .
How about sharing with us which VPN provider you were using?
If it was your VPNs IP on the infringement notice then a kill switch would have done nothing to protect you. Obviously your IP is not leaking.
Are you using OpenVPN or other?
Are you using your ISPs DNS?
Might be a lot of reasons:
1) your VPN does not allow torrenting;
2) you might have leaked your IP
3) would recommend having a kill switch just in case
Forcing encryption in your torrent client will remove the possibility of anyone inspecting your traffic from knowing what you’re doing even without a VPN…
Edit: Anyone reading this, it’s bad advice. Please use a VPN with disconnect protection to be as certain as possible you are not caught, even that isn’t fool proof but it’s better.
