  1. Speed, and reputation. The first that you can only base on your experience from using it. The second by your reason/want in the VPN. Most can keep you ‘safe’ while torrenting till you are blue in the face. Some can even keep you ‘safe’ from the FBI and let you use geo restricted services like BBC iPLayer or Netflix. Some have some cute little bells and whistles to make their service seem more ‘privacy’ minded.

    Fact: No service can make up for dumb human user mistakes

    Fact: What you want from a VPN, dictates which one is best for you.

  2. Hey OP, What are you using it for? Torrenting, Gaming, Streaming?

    As you can tell by my username, I am in the same boat as you. I have put aside a bit of income. A Good VPN costs money. I suggest looking at the megathread. Use r/vpnreview and r/vpncoupons to help make your choice. Not all VPNs have a good history! Send me a PM of your decision because I am also looking for a VPN!
