1. A dynamic IP shouldn’t be a problem in itself since you can use a dynamic dns service. But not having a public IP address will be a problem if it’s the case, unless you are able to forward one or more ports.

   For IPv6 this is not a problem, since all devices have their own ip-number which can be seen on the internet.

   But with the old IPv4, the RFC 1918 ip-numbers cannot be used on the internet. The most used solution is ‘port forwarding’. You tell the router to forward all requests for port 1194 (OpenVPN) to a device on your home network.

   Any ip-number will work. There are solutions as well. Most people use one of the many free services available, which will update your dns-entry if the ip-number is changed.

   Remember, there are no problems — there are only solutions.
