1. Could happen, but it would be specific to the service. There is no general answer.

   It’s usually a good idea to keep things separate.

2. I use a vpn for 100% of my home traffic (behind the router) and never faced the problem in 4 years.

   It is extremely difficult to do an efficient and smart filter based on the IP as a lot of users still have dynamic ip, shared IP (companies IP). And more and more people use VPN.

3. I connected to AirVPN on hackforums and got a banned message. Disconnected to access it and haven’t been banned ~ 4 months so far.

4. What would most likely happen is the traffic would be from a blacklisted IP and just get dropped. They would never even see it’s contents so they wouldn’t know it was you.

5. Very few services ban you completely for using a VPN. The dirty secret is streaming services make money when they get legitimate subscribers paying them… Wherever those subscribers are from. HBO NOW has done this before by blocking your account. Worst case, you create a new account later on.

   To answer your question, don’t be afraid, almost no services ban customers for using known VPN ip ranges and, if they do, you can easily get around it in most cases.

   That depends entirely on the policy of the service you’re connecting to. Generally that’s not how it works.

7. Only time I met this issue was websites and forums specializing in trading game accounts (which is actually illegal, and very much abused by all sorts of scammers).

   Sometimes, websites impose additional anti-bot measures e.g. captcha and stuff on particular ip ranges. Also, some services refuse to work properly outside home country, as already mentioned.

In general the ip banning will not come to a point that the service will vallidate your data and if so they will need phone verification.I think is extremelly rare to be banned cause of vpn.keep in mind that there is no reason to use vpn just to visit social media and websites you habded over your privacy.

9. You can get banned from betting sites, especially from Bet365 which state that in their Privacy policy. Be it for logging to your account from two different IPs over certain period of time or even for having your system time not set correctly to match your vpn server’s address.
