  1. Agreed. I don’t understand why I can’t just input numbers, or a text, or something shorter to do? No, instead I have to do a round of cars, then some street signs, and let’s add some busses or storefronts for good measure. And what’s worse, after every choice they load the replacement image at such a slow pace, it’s annoying. It takes way more time than it should.

  2. Yep – duck duck go is starting to be my default. Hardly see a difference except when trying to find really obscure facts that google’s search crawler has that duck duck go doesn’t.

    You don’t need to sell user’s information to make money!

  3. Google, like any other big company, is suffering from being arrogant and lazy. They stopped caring about the quality of their service a long time ago.

    Why not try some other search engine which won’t track you and sell your search information?

    Two come to mind, there could be yet more:

  4. It’s not even limited to just vpn use. I’ve been getting captchas recently just for consecutive searches being performed too rapidly. But yea their captchas are easily the worst (and continually getting even worse). I fucking hate doing them at all, but if they are *necessary*, don’t make me do like goddamn 10 multi step ones per instance. Fuck google.

    Hi. You may try Hooktube for getting YouTube results in private. You may try Tutanota or Protonmail instead of Gmail.

    And you may try SearX instead of Google.

    Be sure to use uBlock Origin, and not using Chrome, as using Chrome and not using uBlock Origin would give a ton of information to Google about you. To top it off Chrome (and Firefox) leak IP adress, if you use VPN. Be sure to follow advices, stated here – https://www.privacytools.io/#webrtc And even better using IceCat instead of Firefox, as Firefox gives out Google information as well (sends a name of every file you download via SafeBrowsing, tracks you with Google Analytics on about:addons page).

    Be sure to block and disable third-party cookies, as well, as pretty much every site saves one or more Google cookies on your PC, which would let Google to track your every movement across the web. Don’t save first party cookies for Google as well.

  6. Setup your own VPN on a dedicated IP address. This will cost you time, but it’s cheap. You can get a basic VPS with a mainstream provider for $5 a month and run the VPN on that. You probably won’t see any captchas (unless you have a bad provider) and you benefit since it’s faster than normal VPN providers (you’re the only one using it)
