Hypothetical question. Can my university track me by me logging into work email/service?

Hi All,

I understand the importance of having a VPN, because lots of people in my country were getting warnings about their ‘streaming’ or ‘downloading’ habits. I’ve heard from a friend that if you log into a uni or work email/service and not log out (kept signed in), they can track your browser searches. I was wondering if this is true? I noticed that when I was using a VPN, I was still signed into my uni email and I may have been looking at some unsavoury things. I was also able to access certain material online because I was still signed into the university.

How likely am I going to get an email from IT?

Question about setting up a private VPN server

Hi!

Since two weeks ago my workspace started to block streaming services like Spotify and YouTube on it’s WiFi network and I thought I could start to use a VPN to get around this nonsense.

A coworker told me he uses his own VPN what he mad on his NAS, but sadly I don’t have a NAS my home multimedia server is an oldish Win 10 based NUC, I’m not really into convert it to linux.

Can I make my own VPN server from Win 10?

It has to be IKEv2, IPsec or L2TP because I want to use it with my iPhone.

is a VPN needed for privacy from a users internet access provider ?
if a user is only using a PC for web browsing, and he/she is using a third party DNS like Quad 9

Question About Setting up a VPN on a Home Router

Hi All!

I was looking into setting up a VPN on my home router, but couldn’t quite find a straightforward answer. My home internet and router are through Spectrum, but when I log into my router, I don’t see any option for a VPN configuration. So, what would be the best way to set up a VPN on a Spectrum Router? Would I need to buy a different router that supports VPN capabilities or could I still install something through the Spectrum router?

VPN router question

I want to setup a VPN router, but I want to pick and choose which devices go through the VPN tunnel and which dont.

Is that possible? I was hoping to either be able to setup rules to pick and choose which devices i want to connect via VPN. Or ideally, have 2 WIFI SSID’s. One call it X and the other X-VPN where I can use that for the VPN connected devices.

HI VPN I have a question about IP locations

I was getting shady messages from visitors to my website. Non sequiturs for subject and message. Real names who were unaware when I looked them up, fake addresses, emails and phone numbers. They were subtly telling me they were going to hack me-the subjects and messages were always cryptic and one word like “following” “insult” “gain” “searching” ‘Tracking” ect.

How are the IPs determined? I had one whose location was the Kermlin and Iwould think it would be rather difficult to access a Kremilin server
