Basically the title. I’m using a VPN that is currently set locally to myself in the United States. However, port much everytime I use my search engine (Ecosia) I get routed to German sites. When I disable my VPN, this doesn’t happen…

  1. IP addresses get recycled all the time. The one used to connect the server you are using was most likely identified as German users or geolocated to Germany before it was picked up by your VPN.

    This is uncommon, but not impossible.
