My VPN connection had been working just fine for a month and a half until last Tuesday 05/05/2020. When I connect it says the tunnel enabled, then a few moments later it says:
‘session terminated by gateway’
‘tunnel disabled’
‘detached from key daemon’
I’ve restarted my modem, my router, everything. I’ve talked with our RMM support my work pays for and did some trouble shooting with them. I’ve plugged an Ethernet cord directly into the modem and it still kicks me off with the message above. I can tether to my phone and it works fine so the RMM support is saying it’s my internet provider and nothing on their end. I’ve spoke with my internet provider and they have no idea what the matter is.
Anyone have any tips to tell my internet provider or RMM support or does anyone have any help?!
Is there more in the logs? What does the log on the other end say? What VPN software?
If you tether to the phone and the VPN works, but connect to the ISP and it doesn’t work, then the confidence level is high that the problem is with the ISP.
And it’s quite normal that the ISP has no clue. See if your RMM can provide more details such as logs, or get them to talk to your ISP’s technologists.
