1. Are you using the same certs and keys for the two clients?If the answer to the question is yes, then just add “duplicate-cn” to server.conf and you should be good to go.

2. Not enough info. Is the router an openvpn server? Is it a client?

   Sounds like you are switching wan-connections. So the first openvpn connection needs to “timeout”. A second connection must be created beacuse you no longer use the same public ip.

   Or maybe you mean something else completely.

3. Is that a client or server?. Read [OpenVPN documentation](https://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/documentation/manuals/65-openvpn-20x-manpage.html) about options `float` and `ipchange`
