   PS4 doesn’t support a SOCKS proxy but it does support a HTTP proxy.

5. VPNs don’t increase the ping because of encryption, they increase the ping because the data goes through their servers. So I don’t know how proxy would not have this same issue…?

   Also, just curious, what FPS games?

6. Thanks ppl!! I’ll look into a gaming/high speed vpn with different servers I can choose. I feel like as long as the server is close to me I’ll be ok. I don’t want any wireless connections anywhere so I assume buying a second nic will solve this and bridging everything together. Maybe if this works good I’ll get a 2nd router and flash a firmware to set up a vpn so I don’t need my computer on all the time. I’ll report back the results.

   Also anyone have good vpn recommendations? I’ll just be gaming through it so no personal info or torrents will go though it. I just want them blazing speeds.

7. Honestly a vpn would be better, just make sure you dont get a residential proxy, theyre so slow. You might want to use a vpn just for now to see if they can also down that, if so you’ll habe to invest in ddosnprotected servers. Id say torguard, they allow you to port forward

8. If 80ms is increased latency you’re going to to have to live with it.

9. I had this problem on Xbox. Xbox itself doesn’t support VPN so I configured it into my router. Since youre just trying to hide your IP, encryption level shouldn’t matter. Use PPTP protocol. Lower encryption so faster speeds.
