1. It would indeed drain your battery more quickly than *without* running a VPN. But I don’t see any downsides to it otherwise (others may disagree, which is fine).

2. Yeah I figured it would run my battery down faster than not having it running, but if there are no other downsides, I wonder if other people run VPNs on their iOS devices 24/7.

3. well, one problem.. with mobile devices and vpn’s.. is you can either run a good ad blocker, or a vpn, but not both.

4. You can enable auto connect feature in iOS VPN settings and when you lock your iPhone/iPad you will be disconnected from network (it usually does if you did not change it) and then when you unlock your device, you will be automatically connected, so the VPN will not be draining more battery when you are not connected.

5. I run my VPN on all my devices 24/7. There are no downsides besides battery and slight network slowdowns.
