1. Some networks require users to login or agree to their terms and conditions before allowing internet access. These pages don’t usually work when the VPN tries to connect as soon you’re connected to the WiFi network.

   If this isn’t the case, then they’re probably blocking VPN connections. This usually can be bypassed by using OpenVPN with TCP + port 443 instead of the more common UDP + port 1194.

2. Try changing the protocol between OpenVPN UDP, OpenVPN TCP, and whatever else is available. Try different port numbers as well if your provider offers different ports.

3. It’s likely that they only allow traffic through certain ports (80, 443).

4. AT&T hotspots block all VPNs, using DPI. I don’t know about “explicitly.”

   Most VPN blocking happens by accident, in my experience. Purposeful VPN blocking is usually carried out with DPI gear, and likely can’t be worked around with anything short of obfsproxy.

   If you can’t fix connectivity issues by changing ports or switching between TCP and UDP, you may have some luck with trying to smuggle VPN packets via DNS (the protocol; not the port) or something equally sneaky.

   Evading DPI solutions on mobile is high-effort, unless you’re using a Linux distro on your device. Even then, running your own servers is likely to be a requirement.

5. Try using a different server if possible. I know that (this is probably going to change eventually thanks to my post, with my luck) famous players theaters blocks hide.me VPN but if I use the Hong Kong server suddenly it’s okay

6. Try changing your DNS settings.

   My VPN didn’t connect using my ISP DNS settings so I change it to PIA’s and it works again.

7. I don’t one hundred percent know your case but I know I have come across some places blocking vpn. What do u use btw.
