    My connection does not get slower, and in some circumstances it’s even a bit faster (weird).

    Many VPNs will slow the connection at least a small amount.

    Mine is usually roughly the same or very minimally slowed.

  2. Yes. It’s an additional hop. Plus, most VPN’s are oversubscribed and there servers are overtaxed.

  4. Yes, usually from 10-30% depending on the VPN provider (it’s not a rule though i *sometimes* have a faster internet with the VPN on for whatever reason). It mostly depends on the VPN provider and the server you connect to.
